Chris is CEO of Mana Health, a health IT startup he founded while in graduate school. His mission is to leverage his unique combination of knowledge in computer science and biology to increase the quality of medical care while lowering it's exorbitant costs. Chris was born in Rome, Italy and was raised traveling back and forth between Italy, France, San Francisco and Hawaii. He completed the majority of his schooling in French, and consequently speaks French and Italian fluently. Chris has been the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including the NYU Presidential Service Award, 1st Place at the Innovention Competition 2012 and the Harold Hertzberg Commencement Award. Chris was also honored to speak at TEDxNYU 2012.He was awarded a B.A. in Neuroscience and Cell Biology, with a Minor in Cognitive Science from Rutgers University in 2010 and completed his MS in Computer Science at NYU-Poly in the spring of 2012 .In his spare time he enjoys cycling around Manhattan, painting and sharing quiet moments with his pet cat, Mingus. Dana Hork is the Founder and CEO of REFINE, an e-commerce basic apparel brand for women. REFINE designs, manufactures, and sells classic styles and essential colors of tees and tanks for women. She also has experience developing marketing programs in the beverages division of PepsiCo as well as launching the customer segmentation initiative for Bonobos, the largest internet-launched men’s apparel brand in the United States. Dana is also the Founder and CEO of Change for Change, a national non-profit organization that mobilizes young adults to fundraise for local charities via small contributions. Dave Goodsmith is the founder and CEO of Scale Analytics, a technology firm that is engineering the new foundation of phone-based international banking and identity verification. Goodsmith is a published expert in the intersection of business and neuroscience and has worked at "Quant" hedge fund D.E. Shaw and in neuroeconomics at Columbia University. Goodsmith applies his passion for data-driven global justice through lobbying, and was instrumental in the introduction of the U.S. Senate Global Fund for Education bill (S3797). He is also the Secretary and Treasurer of Incentives for Global Health and has founded a number of globally-focused non-profits. When not floating backwards down the East River on his folding kayak, he can be found playing clarinet in NYC's subways. Hayden Williams is the Co-founder and CEO of Treatin.gs, a career discovery and networking platform that makes it easy for students and young professionals to arrange one-on-one informational meetings. Treatin.gs makes networking fun, taking it out of the office and into coffee shops and bars where members offer to treat peers to a drink. Hayden’s first foray into business involved peddling knives door-to-door in Cape Cod. While the experience only lasted a summer, he made it out with a prolific set of cutlery jokes, the ability to cut a penny into a corkscrew and all ten fingers intact. Lindsey Markelz, Co-Founder CharityGiftMarket & Director of UrbanPromise International (Social Enterprise) Lindsey Markelz is the Co-Founder of CharityGiftMarket and Director of UrbanPromise International (UPI). After serving in the Peace Corps, Lindsey started working with UPI, a start-up non-profit, in 2008. In December 2010, Lindsey developed the vision for CharityGiftMarket.com, an aggregate e-commerce website where Charities sell merchandise to support their cause. By the spring of 2011, CharityGiftMarket was in pilot phase with a live site, partnering with charities and helping to sell their products and promote their work. Lindsey holds a Masters in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania. She is passionate about finding ways to increase the sustainability of charitable efforts that address some of the worlds most pressing needs. Nayoung Lee Louie Sectors: Life Sciences Nayoung Lee Louie is a project manager for the Discovery to Market at Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School. She works as a liaison between MBA students and scientists from Hopkins to look at commercial feasibility of university inventions. The inventions include innovation in the areas of medical diagnostics and therapies, medical devices and health information technology. She also serves as an advisor for Health Care Business Association. Nayoung earned her undergraduate degree and Ph. D in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University with research focus in brain imaging and computational anatomy. She was a visiting scholar at UCLA, the University of Washington in Saint Louis, and the University of New South Wales in Australia as a NSF neuroengineering research fellow and a Howard Hughes summer research fellow and is a member of Tau Beta Pi and Alpha Eta Mu. She also worked as a consultant for a start-up stem cell company during graduate school. Nayoung is passionate about transforming discoveries made in academic laboratories to products in market and building entrepreneurial community in Baltimore-Washington DC area. Patrick Burns is the Founder of Falamos, an online language learning platform that aims to improve how the world learns languages. Patrick works full-time for Panjiva, an enterprise technology startup, where he leads strategic business growth in Latin America. Patrick has also worked as an international journalist, covering political and breaking news stories throughout the Americas. Having worked as an English teacher in Japan for a year, he’s an expert in learning and teaching languages. Patrick enjoys using media to tell people’s stories, and he produced an award-winning documentary film that will screen at Sundance and other major film festivals in 2013. He holds a degree in Political Science from the University of Texas at Austin. He loves fresh fish, strong coffee, and running. I manage all aspects of operations of Infomous, and am fully involved with all day-to-day activities, including managing the staff and overseas developers. My degree in Accounting, coupled with my work and management experience, gives me an excellent base to oversee operations and finance. In addition, I work side-by-side with the CEO on all aspects of the company’s strategy. Outside of work, I am an avid consumer of information about the NY Tech and Venture Capital scenes. I am also a big fan of philanthropic activities, especially those that support the development of young women. I, along with 500 other youth around the globe, in collaboration with the Office of the UN Special Envoy for Global Education, am trying to get every child into school by the end of 2015. Scott Pollack, Founder, PriceJuicer Sectors: Technology Scott Pollack is a co-founder of PriceJuicer, a price optimization tool that takes the guess work out of pricing tickets to events by allowing event organizers to dynamically adjust ticket prices in real-time. Previously, he was the founder and CEO of Hot Pot Culinary Events, a social cooking events company based in NYC. Scott began his startup career as a Java developer, rising from college intern to CIO of UVentures, a startup that was acquired in 2003. Scott has also worked as a Senior Manager of Business Development at American Express, signing and leading partnership deals with Costco, DirecTV, Sovereign Bank, and others.
